In early July I visited Kate Simpson, president of Academic Travel Abroad, at her Washington, D.C., office—her amazing and award-winning office. ATA was named by The Washington Post as a 2016 Top Workplace, and I wanted to congratulate Kate and her team in person. I also wanted to pick her brain. Founded in 1950, ATA is a year older than NTA. The ownership includes Kate, Chase Poffenberger and Mark Lenhart. Kate told me ATA earned the award by encouraging workalike balance and fostering professional growth among its 90 employees worldwide (60 in the U.S.). Read the article here.
