• You’re Invited – FEA Gala 2016

    November 14th

It should come as no surprise that our organization, Academic Travel Abroad, is a huge advocate for international education and travel. Every day we work to create unique opportunities and experiences for individuals to increase their global understanding through educational travel. That’s why we didn’t think twice about sponsoring Fund for Education Abroad’s upcoming Gala!

For those of you that aren’t familiar, Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. They diligently work to expand access to undergraduate international education (i.e. “study abroad”) by raising awareness of its value, promoting its benefits, and granting scholarships to students. FEA gives preference to student applicants from groups underrepresented in study abroad and those destined for non-traditional locations in an effort to make the demographics of U.S. undergraduates studying abroad reflect the rich diversity of our country.

    Giving Back

At Academic Travel Abroad, one of the main pillars of our mission is to contribute meaningfully to our world, our field, and our community. What better way to do so than by sponsoring a charity so close to home— both literally and figuratively. It’s an exceptionally personal cause for our organization as FEA was founded by our executive team in 2010, some of whom still serve on its board today.

FEA’s 2016 Gala is just around the corner, and it is sure to be a memorable occasion. The Keynote Speaker will be William English “Brit’ Kirwan, Chancellor Emeritus of the University System of Maryland, and several past scholarship recipients will be in attendance to share their profound experiences studying abroad.

We invite you to join us in attending the Gala this Wednesday, November 16th, 2016 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Click here to purchase a ticket for the event. Tickets start at $50 and include an entry into a raffle for a trip for two to Cuba, courtesy of National Geographic Expeditions in partnership with Academic Travel Abroad.
